PRODUCTION COMPANY LOGO IDEAS
The above displays some of the ideas for my ideal company logo. The Grimespinner idea the Grimespinna studios idea and the GrittGrim productions idea all share a similar aspect of boldness and block writing. My production I want my production logo to be bold and simple. Its boldness and simplicity will make it easily identifiable for the audience, its lack of complexity allows the content of the film to be reflected through the production company logo. It's edginess and realism will be conveyed through its bold font, simplicity and perhaps through the colours that I may choose.
GrimeCycle productions, and tough hustle studios are less bold but still consists of the simplicity elements, however, I'm not convinced by its name.

PRODUCTION COMPANY LOGO

Gunslinger productions produce edgy, realism films such as sket, shank and Anuvahood. This is in some ways reflected in their logo which consist predominantly of dark colours like black and red. The logo is straight and simple yet rough and inconsistent in smoothness. This reflects the grittiness and edginess of their films and I can adapt some of the aspects of their logo into mine because my film is of similar content and genre to the films that they produced. They effectively presented this in their logo and its a feature that I admire as well as the fact that they are an independent production company.
The Gary Sanchez production logo is very creative and highly personalised. The use of a gun and a cup of coffee to make their logo is creative and unusual. I would like for my logo to perhaps maybe have something which is unique and creative. uniqueness and creativity in a logo makes it more familiar and recognisable for viewers.
Dreamworks production are more broad, non -independent production company. Their logo is beautiful and airy and elaborate, also making them familiar and easily identifiable. because they are not limited in the types of films they make, it makes them more wide and inclusive.

TARGET AUDIENCE FOR FILM
My target audience for this film will be for males and females under 25.
WHY?:
HOW?:

FLEXIBILITY OF TARGET AUDIENCE
The film will be a fully British film, because the storyline and situation is one that will most likely occur in Britain. Therefore, this means that the film will be for a niche audience; a specific ethnic group are targeted:
WHY?:
- Because, they will be the types of young people who can perhaps relate to the main characters and are the ones most likely to experience or encounter the same situation in the story line.
- Films similar to mine or films where my story line similarly derived from usually have the same target audience. E.g 'Bullet Boy' and 'My Murder'; in fact, he certificate for bullet boy is 15.
HOW?:
- The main character in my film will be a 17 year old girl. This will make it more relevant and relatable to the target audience.
- Although other gang/crime movies usually consist of a young male protagonist. 'Bullet Boy's' "Ricky", 'My Murder's' "Shakilus Townsend" and 'Kidulthood's' 15 year old "Sam Peel". 'Sket' another gang crime movie whose main characters are female, my film will adopt this aspect and use a female protagonist giving an alternative expectation which will make the movie more interesting, so that females can be portrayed in a violent and unexpected way.

FLEXIBILITY OF TARGET AUDIENCE
The film will be a fully British film, because the storyline and situation is one that will most likely occur in Britain. Therefore, this means that the film will be for a niche audience; a specific ethnic group are targeted:
- young black teenage boys and girls in London who are involved in gang crime or come across a situation to do with gang culture and other criminal activities in parts of London.

- Although the dominating theme is gang and crime culture a black 17 year old girl encounters, it still attract other ethnic teenagers as the storyline is broadly about a 17 year old boy. Other teenagers can also relate to the minor problems a teenager may come across.
- The film may also attract females under 25 because female actors have been used in other similar gang crime films such as 'sket' where the main characters are all young teenage females, who have been in similar situations regarding gang and criminal culture, so they may also be able to relate to the main characters, the theme and the storyline.
- This is where my choice to use a female protagonist derived from.

MAIN IDEA
The idea that I've chosen is a Drama which follows the life of 17 year old David.
However, I will make changes and instead of the protagonist being the a male, it will be a female, Rebecca.
A troubled youth who struggles to maintain the two contrasting and contradicting lifestyles she strives to balance. One lifestyles where she proves to be intelligent, focused, and academically excelleing. Another, where her conealed anger and matryred scilence is released through engagement of criminal, delinquent activiteies with his fellow gang members.
Rebecca comes from the "typical single-parent' family and suffers from material deprivation and peer pressure. The combination of a lack of father figure, disconnection with her mother and having very little money provokes her to join a ruthless gang where she seeks family and belonging.
She is consumed with the thought that despite her intelligence academically, she doesn't have a future so she has to conform to the stereotype of black youths suffering from material deprivation and instability in homes who become being unruly and dangerous. One day, Rebecca is confronted by these two lifestyles and she has to make a choice on which path she wants to continue to lead.

When..
the gang plan a major fight with the conflicting gang; Rebecca is appointed to stab the leader of the opposing gang. On the same day is her major exam for a scholarship to an American university. It will remain ambiguious the choice that Rebecca makes and the result of her choice.
I chose this idea because its one that I can easily express and fully illustrate into a film, in order to make it of high standard. Mainly because I have been around people who have encountered these kind of issues or have been in similar predicaments in previous years. I've lived in an area where knife crime and gang culture has been at its highest point, therefore I would easily be able to fully properly convey this idea into a film. In addition to this other successful British films such as 'My murder' 'Kidulthood' and 'sket' all share similar context and have influenced this idea. This could be seen as a disadvantage as my film may then be easily compared to one of these films. Normal people in society will be able to relate to the context, and many young people take interest in such topics and so it will attract my desired target audience of young people under 25; to be specific 15 year olds upwards.

25 WORD PITCH
David is a young delinquent by night but academically focused by day; but it is inevitable that the two worlds will one day become intertwined.
The composition of this 25 word pitch was a difficult process to complete; predominantly because it is was difficult to compress my incredibly broad and wide ideas into mere 25 words; I would have preferred to dive immediately into elaborate discussions, discribtions and storyline. However, the compression of my ideas meant that I could narrow my idea and the main structure of my opening sequence to be short, crisp, focused and in control.
After writing the 25 words, I read it out to rest of the class, as requested by our teacher. On the left are some questions asked in response.
The boy walks into a library with nice smooth music studying hard to where he walks out in the dark and 'the hood comes up' and he goes to meet his gang buddies. At this point a drastic alteration in background music would occur, from the classical peaceful music to really loud rap music.

- "It's really good, What does he do in his delinquent behaviour"
- What genre would it come under?
- Why is David a delinquent?
- What is the opening sequence going to include?

INITIAL IDEA
The combination of my influences and my mood board images helped me conclude to two main ideas. Firstly, because of my musical background; the musical drama genre could be further enhanced. The actors that I could use for this idea would be easily accessible as it mainly consist of female actors in my age group. This idea would also meet my desired target audience and would be fairly simple to follow and create. Movies such as high school musical are similar to the film and camp rock-mostly Disney films. This could also be seen as a disadvantage because it could easily be compared to an American type films and British movies are known to sometimes failed make good films in that genre. The opening sequence of this idea is that the main character would immediately be introduced as she enters her singing competition to amaze the judging panel with her mesmerising voice, after she had been wished good luck by her poor and ill mother.
The other idea of a gang culture and crime genre about a 17 year old who tries to balance to conflicting lifestyles; one of crime and one of academic intelligence and law abidance. This idea is something that can be elaborated due to its moral issues and realism. Its more down to earth to what young people in real life can really relate to and is the serious problem in life. The actors are also available and minor aspects such as settings and music are already in place. I picture this initial idea to be one where the boy walks into a library with nice smooth music studying hard to where he walks out in the dark and 'the hood comes up' and he goes to meet his gang buddies. At this point a drastic alteration in background music would occur, from the classical peaceful music to really loud rap music.
