INFLUENCES

SHANK
This film derived from the event of the riots; it was done to reveal the hardships of youth in London that the government have neglected. Although, this film has the aspect of realism and grime, it in my opinon was 'too over the top' in its representations of young people who suffer in London. However, the music and the ethnic characters who are dominant in the film. This film helps me have an idea of what I might include in my opening.

ADULTHOOD AND KIDULTHOOD:
These films are two connented- sequel. They both follow the lives of young people who suffer due to lack of opportunities and peer pressure. they both consist of ethnic minority- predominantly, black people. This film explores representation of different people in society and I think my opening may gain if that aspect is incorporated ino it.

SKET;
This film explores the representation of females, who seem to contradict the stereotypes and stigmatisation attatched to them. This film can attract a wide audience due to its contoversial storyline, its different representations and locations.

BULLETBOY:
This focuses on one character who seems to be trapped into mischeif and criminal activities for the rest of his life, due to his friends, which consequently result to his death. The element of focus on one particular character is one positive element of the film which might help, if adapted to my opening.
